Climbing Area – Julien Labedan
Great area with a lot of tree cover. Hard sport and a bit of moderate/hard trad. Topo can be found here. This is not a softly graded area!
Route comments
- L’éperon (5.6) : I’m not much of a fan of these types of climbs. It wanders quite a bit and makes it tough to get into a groove. I probably wouldn’t repeat this unless forced to.
- La Fruitée (5.7) : A beautiful, beautiful climb, although not very sustained. It’s a series of 5.7 moves between ledges. Gear is plentiful.
- Momo (5.7) : Scared myself shitless on this one. I didn’t have anywhere near enough big gear. Despite having a C4 #4, #3 and #2, I still had to run it out … On a repeat, I would probably bring an extra very large cam on this one and my extra #3.
